Manuscript folio, 2 volumes bound in 1. An exceptionally detailed and beautiful manuscript, consisting of 2 manuscript title pages, 109 complete full page drawings of locomotives with detailed descriptions of each on the opposite page, 7 pages of technical drawings of various locomotive types, 26 drawings of train lines and junctions, the majority of which have been completed with hand colouring, 19 drawings of signal box levers, again mostly completed in colour, 3 incomplete drawings of locomotives, additional manuscript notes and 3 loosely inserted drawings. The drawings are dated 1904-1914 and the locomotives depicted date from 1901-1914. ¾ red leather over red cloth boards, spine in 7 compartments with raised bands, gilt decoration, black leather and gilt title label. Folio 470 x 218 mm. It would appear that the author had intended this work for publication, however, kit is also apparent from the incomplete drawings that the work was never finished. Nonetheless this is an unique and exceptionally well executed piece of work with extremely detailed and beautiful drawings
